Make A Wish

December 31. 2012

What a crazy few days it has been. My best-laid plans for a fab New Year’s Eve post were foiled this week when I ended up couch-bound, while fighting a nasty stomach flu. Well, I am up-and-running again, but my hopes for a New Year’s shot showing my “Wish Confetti” were never realized. Here is the idea with the help of some fab internet friends…

confetti

{What You Need}

  • Confetti-One of my favorite bloggers, Erin from House of Earnest, did this confetti DIY for Style Me Pretty.
  • A Wish-I love this Wishing Wall featured every year in New York where people can write their wishes for the upcoming year and have them included in the confetti drop in Times Square.
  • Paper Cone-A quick and easy DIY paper cone to hold and throw your special confetti at midnight.

{How To}

  • After making Erin’s gorgeous metallic confetti, ask guests to write a wish, hope, or goal for the upcoming year on the back side of a confetti circle.
  • A half-hour before midnight, mix the wishes together in a large bowl.
  • Divide the confetti into the paper cones and handout to your guests.
  • At the stroke of midnight, throw in the air, make a wish, and ring in the New Year!

This past year has been one amazing ride with so many new beginnings, including the start of this very blog, and has been more than I could have ever dreamed. I cannot wait to see what 2013 has in store and wish all of you a very Happy New Year!
