In honor of Mother’s Day, here is a summer cocktail that can also double as dessert. My mom came across this recipe for a twist on the classic “Ramos Fizz” over 25 years ago at the Rusty Duck in Half Moon Bay, California. It is like an orange creamsicle in a glass and is a “must add” to your summer entertaining menu.

Rusty Duck Ramos Fizz (serves two to three)
2oz Orange Juice
2oz Vodka (or Gin)
2oz Half and Half
2oz Sweet and Sour Mix
1/2 cup crushed ice
1 Egg (yes, the yolk and white)
2 to 3 tablespoons of sugar (to taste)
Optional: 1/2 cup of whipped cream
Combine everything, except the whipped cream, into a blender until combined and the ice is fully crushed. Fold in the whipped cream. Garnish each glass with an orange slice.
