I was debating whether or not to save this as a travel to table post later this month, but this truly a tip and a trick, so here we go.
While in Seattle earlier this week (seriously love that city) a friend recommended Elliot’s for a little oyster love. One of the girls decided to order what could only be called a smörgåsbord of seafood goodness. After we finished, instead of providing the traditional lemon wedge and hot towel to clean her hands, the waiter brought over a few packets of saltines, yes saltines.
Why it works…
Saltines are pretty much made of three ingredients- baking soda, flour, and salt. The baking soda acts as a deodorizer to neutralize that fishy smell, the flour absorbs the remaining oils, and the salt acts as an exfoliant leaving your hands silky smooth.
It totally did the trick and was a million time better than those dreadful wetnaps. I am definitely using this tip as my go-to from now on. What do you think?
